Generally speaking, the growth rate of the pesticide output in China in 2015 has slowed down, but the overall output still maintains at a high level. The pesticide export volume in China has been increasing since 2010, and the growing trend continued throughout the years until 2015 when both the pesticide import and export in China witnessed fall for the first time after nearly six consecutive years’ increase. The pesticide export volume in China from January to November reached 1,381,500 tons, a decrease of 9.2% compared with that over the same period of last year and the import amount reached 6.67 billion dollars, which dropped by 17.71%, a sharp contrast compared with the same period of last year. The pesticide import in China from January to November reached 52,800 tons and the import amount reached 616 million dollars, both of which witnessed double-digit decrease, respectively 14.09% and 10.15%. Director Zhang expressed that though faced with a grim situation, with the increasingly easing environmental pressure as well as gradual decrease of relevant cost for raw materials used for pesticide production, it is expected that the pesticide export volume in China will rise again in 2016 or 2017.
