Recently, Huapont Nutrichem (hereafter referred as the company) announced that the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Nutrichem America signed the assignment of acquisition with Albaugh to purchase 20% shares of Albaugh. The investment achieved $220 million dollars.
Albaugh is one of the largest generic agrochemical manufacturers in the US, with main products glyphosate, 2,4-D, dicamba, and atrazine etc. Currently Albaugh’s glyphosate and 2,4-D’s market share account for the second place globally right after Monsanto and Dow Agroscience respectively. What’s more, its subsidiary Atanor occupied large proportion in Argentina agrochemical market.
Although Huapont Nutrichem has a share in domestic agrochemical market, it hasn’t formed whole industrial chain in respect of the said four products. Through the acquisition, Huapont Nutrichem will be guaranteed the product registration and distribution channels of PMIDA, glyphosate and dicamba etc.
