According to the data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics, the main business income of the national agrochemical industry from January to May 2015 was RMB125.128 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%, and the total profit was RMB8.62 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. The total profit of chemical pesticides grew 0.5% year on year, while that of biochemical and microbial pesticides increased sharply by 27.4%, a growth much larger than that of chemical pesticides.

    Despite a significant increase in the overall profit from January to May 2015, the number of money-losing enterprises increased 13.1% year on year, and the amount of loss was RMB591 million, a year-on-year increase of 112.4%, and the percentage of money-losing enterprises increased 1.1% over the year. What’s worth noticing is that the number of money-losing enterprises, amount of loss and percentage of money-losing enterprises of both biochemical pesticides and microbial pesticides decreased over last year, showing a decline of 22.2%, 26.2% and 3.0% respectively.
