The CAPI of February, 2014 was 100.72, an increase of 1.22% on a month-on-month basis and an increase of 0.72% on a year-on-year basis. Due to the Spring Festival holiday, the output of TC products in February dropped remarkably. The prices of some of the pesticide products recovered after the holiday was over.
The price index of herbicides reached 103.14, an increase of 1.29% on a month-on-month basis and an increase of 3.14% on a year-on-year basis. The prices of a large number of the herbicides dropped in February, while the prices of glyphosate and paraquat increased significantly, which, to a large degree, offset the general profit loss of herbicide products and brought in a slight rise of the price index.
The price index of insecticides reached 96.14 in February. The transaction prices of abamectin, lambda-cyhalothrin, emamectin benzoate, malathion, triazophos, acephate and other insecticides rose in February. The demand expectation for insecticides went up, which generated a rise in the price index, bringing an increase of 4.00% on a month-on-month basis, but a drop of 3.87% on a year-on-year basis. Generally speaking, the insecticide market was basically stable. The slight decrease of the weighted transaction price of insecticides was mainly caused by the drop of transaction price of chlorpyrifos which accounted for quite a large market share.
The fungicide market maintained basically stable in February. There weren’t marked ups and downs of the fungicide prices, which generally stayed on the same level with those over the same period of last year. The price index of fungicides of February reached 98.83, a drop of 1.89% on a month-on-month basis and a drop of 1.17% on a year-on-year basis. The fungicide market was still experiencing a downturn.
