The long-awaited 4thInternational Agrochemical Exhibition in Indonesia & Asian Crop Protection Forum was successfully convened in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 11th August 2014. This forum was co-hosted by China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) and China National Chemical Information Center (CNCIC). The forum, as a succession to the 3rd International Agrochemical Exhibition in Burma & Asian Crop Protection Forum, further helped the Chinese agrochemical manufacturers solidify and expand the market in East Asia through establishing a trade platform. What’s more, this is also another remarkable oversea exhibition held by AgroChemEx, an exhibition brand of CCPIA.

The exhibition has received full support and participation from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, the Indonesian Ministry of Commerce, the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Indonesia Chemical Industry Association, Association of Indonesia Water Conservancy and Agriculture as well as other related institutions. There were more than 50 exhibitors from China, India and Indonesia, among which Chinese enterprises accounted for 70%. Pesticide and crop protection product suppliers from Indonesia, India and China gathered here, demonstrating their advanced products, technologies and services. This exhibition advocated diversification and invited buyers of multiple levels. Keeping a foothold in Indonesia and open to the ASEAN and other Asian countries, the forum invited old and new friends in the industry and promoted all-round economic and trade exchanges. This two-day event attracted more than 800 visitors from Indonesia, China, Thailand, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Turkey, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Germany and other countries. Association of Indonesia Water Conservancy and Agriculture, which closely worked with the exhibition actively organized its members to participate the exhibition. A number of its members are farm property owners, which broadened the exchange channel for the exhibitors and further helped manufacturers at the exhibition to establish a product brand image in the local industry. Therefore, more potential trade relations might be established in the future.

Asian Crop Protection Forum was held at the same time of the exhibition. Invited guest speakers from CCPIA International Trading Committee, the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry, the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Committee, Indonesia Chemical Industry Association, the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Forestry made speeches on product registration, investment and development, market trends and other topics concerned by enterprises at the exhibition and the forum. Industry enterprises from Asian countries gathered together to make full exchanges, thus acquiring more professional information favorable to business development and more opportunities for business cooperation, development and expansion. During the forum, CCPIA also held workshops on product registration for part of the enterprise representatives and responsible officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture to help enterprises better understand the policies and regulations as well as channel relationship.

In recent years, the bilateral trade between China and Indonesia has developed rapidly with a continuous upward trend. China has already become Indonesias largest trading partner, while Indonesia is also one of Chinas major trading partners. Indonesia was the first Southeast Asian country visited by Xi Jinping as President of China, and currently the relationship between the two countries is at the best state in history. With continued development of Indonesias agricultural economy and growth of the market output value, the needs of the industry will keep growing, so are the development potentials. Therefore, there is great room for the development of international trading and cooperation, which will bring enormous business opportunities for Chinese enterprises. The exhibition aimed to play a positive role in promoting technical exchanges and trade development between crop protection industries from China, Indonesia and other Asian countries, serving as a bridge for mutual exchanges and cooperation among the enterprises.
